GPT- GeoPackage Format

What is .GPT File Format and How to Open it?

The .GPT file format is a type of file created by the popular computer-aided design (CAD) software known as Geomagic Design (formerly known as Alibre Design). It is used to store 3D models and is used by a variety of industries in the design of products and components.

The .GPT file format contains all the necessary information required to view and manipulate a 3D model on the Geomagic Design software. This includes the 3D model’s geometry, as well as its properties, such as color, texture, and other settings.

The .GPT file format is similar to other CAD file formats, such as .STL, .IGES, and .STEP. It is a proprietary format, meaning it can only be opened and edited using Geomagic Design. It is not compatible with other CAD programs, such as Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks.

To open a .GPT file, it must first be imported into the Geomagic Design software. The user then has the option to view the 3D model in a variety of ways, such as wireframe, shaded, or rendered. Once the model is opened, it can then be edited.
