LDF stands for Log Database File which is a log or database file, supported by MS SQL server. It efficiently holds all the transaction event/logs which are executed on the database. The prime aim of using LDF files is to save data from loss in SQL Server. Users can easily identify the file extension as .ldf. A log file saves with the same file name as its associated MDF file.
