KML- Keyhole Markup Language

What is .KML File Format and How to Open it?

A KML (Keyhole Markup Language) file is an XML-based file used to store geographic data and display it in Google Earth, Google Maps, and other applications. It contains placemarks, which are points, lines, and polygons that define a geographic area. It can also contain images, 3D models, text, and other data.
KML files are typically opened in Google Earth, a free program from Google. Once the KML file is opened in Google Earth, users can view the geographic data, zoom in and out, and turn on and off layers.

To open a KML file in Google Earth, select “File” > “Open” in the main menu and select the desired KML file. Alternatively, users can simply drag and drop the KML file into the main window of Google Earth. Once the KML file is loaded, users can begin exploring the geographic data within it.
