VMAP- Vector Map Format

What is .VMAP File Format and How to Open it?

A .VMAP file is a vector map file created by VMap Studio, a software used for creating and editing vector maps. It stores a map in vector format, which is a type of graphic data stored as a mathematical formula. A .VMAP file contains information about the type of data, geographic area, and objects on the map. It also includes attributes such as labels, colors, line types, and symbols.

The .VMAP file format is primarily used for GIS (Geographic Information Systems) applications and is supported by a few other programs. It can be opened with VMap Studio and a few other GIS programs. However, due to its limited support, it is not very commonly used.

If you need to open a .VMAP file, you can use a file viewer like Free File Viewer. This program lets you view, edit, and save the contents of a .VMAP file. You can also convert the file to a different format, such as a PDF or SVG.
