What is .SLK File Format?

A SLK file is a spreadsheet file created by Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet programs, such as OpenOffice Calc and Apple Numbers. It contains a table of data with cells arranged by rows and columns and formatted with fonts, colors, and other properties. SLK files are most commonly used for storing financial data.

SLK files can be opened with Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet programs. If you don’t have the program installed on your computer, you can use a free online spreadsheet converter, such as Zamzar, to convert the SLK file to a more common spreadsheet format.

When you open an SLK file in Excel, you may see a warning message about the file being in a different format than the default Excel format. This is normal and you can click “Yes” to continue opening the file. The data should appear in an Excel spreadsheet.

You can also rename an SLK file to an XLS or XLSX file and open it in Excel. However, the file must be saved in the XLS or XLSX format for it to be opened in other spreadsheet programs.

SLK files are useful for storing data in a spreadsheet format, but they are not as commonly used as XLS and XLSX files. Therefore, it is recommended to save the file in the XLS or XLSX format for compatibility with other spreadsheet programs.
